{Amy & Brent Oliver} Married 09.06.2014

Amy & Brent Oliver were married on September 6, 2014 out at The Walters Barn in Lula, GA. We had such a fantastic day celebrating with Brent and Amy and we are excited to share a little bit of their love story with you!

Brent and Amy met in the Fall of 2011 while playing on a softball team with some mutual friends in Toccoa, GA. "We share a love for sports - baseball in particular - and a couple of our first dates consisted of playing a co-ed softball tournament together, and attending a Braves’ game with the same mutual friends that happened to introduce us" - Amy Oliver

Over the next 2 years Amy and Brent shared some of their favorite pass times together including softball tournaments and baseball games as well as many other interests that they both share. Throughout their time together their common interests helped their love for each other to blossom and bloom into a beautiful relationship that eventually led to marriage.

"They may say opposites attract, but I would have to dismantle that theory; I don’t feel like there is anyone more like me than my husband."

The weekend before Amy and Brent got engaged they visited the "Rock City" in Tennessee, where the proposal was supposed to take place. Unfortunately there was a mishap that they both weren't expecting..."Brent had intentions of proposing on the big bridge that crosses the Tennessee River. However, much to his (and, secretly, my) dismay, the ring did not arrive in time to make the journey to Chattanooga with us."

On December 19, 2013, one week after their visit to Chattanooga, TN, Brent finally got to propose. "We made a trip to Gainesville to eat at Atlas Pizza and finish up some Christmas shopping. On our way to Atlas, while walking across the festively-decorated square, glistening with strings of lights that hung in the trees, Brent got down on one knee and proposed." Amy was hoping it would happen soon, but certainly didn't expect it to happen that night.

When they finally started to plan their wedding for the Fall of 2014, they began to discover that almost all of the dates for the Fall were completely booked at everywhere they looked. Fortunately for them, The Walters Barn had September 6th available and, for the second time, she said yes!!

"We wanted a place that was central to our families and friends, could provide everything we would need so that we didn’t have to worry about so many details, and that somewhat reflected our personalities. The Walters Barn was beautiful, and was certainly fit the bill. It has a relaxed, country feel to it, but is still a classy, somewhat upscale venue, and was a perfect location for our friends and family to all be able to attend."

Since Amy and Brent's faith is very important to them, and they decided not to get married in a church, they got married in front of a cross. Amy's dad built and stained the cross for her special day. "It might have been my favorite detail of the entire wedding"

Their friends and family say that Amy and Brent's wedding was one of the best they had ever been to, and we couldn't agree more. There wedding was so much fun and everyone seemed to be having a blast!! Although there was a little mishap due to the weather, a small power outage, it didn't stop the day from being one for the books!

"I won’t say there’s nothing I would change, but, as weddings evolve and new ideas emerge, I think all brides come to feel that way about one thing or another. I know the important things will always stand: I married the love of my life on a hot, sunny day in September (a decision I will never regret), and we will eternally be grateful for the blessings of our loved ones who came to witness it."

We love absolutely every one of these pictures taken by the talented Courtney Ward Photography. Here are a few more to enjoy from Amy and Brent's big day!
