{Lara & Heath Chambers} Married 11.09.14

Heath and Lara Chambers are one of our sweet couples from this Fall who were married on a beautiful Sunday in November out at The Walters Barn in Lula, GA. Heath, Lara and their beutiful daughter were such a joy to work with. Here is a little bit about Lara & Heath's Love Story!

Heath and Lara met in the way many couples do nowadays - online. They both took a leap of faith in doing it, as they were both skeptics that it would actually work out. But low and behold, it worked for them. They chatted for a little while before meeting for their first date on November 27, 2013.

It was the day before Thanksgiving and it was an impromptu dinner date. It was on that first date they realized they had quite a bit in common, and very similar interests. Starting that night, their relationship blossomed. It wasn't long before they were spending almost every day together. Their love for animals, the outdoors, and staying home watching movies brought them even closer to one another.

Lara's daughter, Kara, got to meet Heath one evening at Chick-Fil-A, and she was an immediate fan of him. One night after she saw them hug each other, she blurted out "Mom, did you marry him?". Lara responded while laughing, "No honey, I didn't." To which Kara responded, "Well in a little while you will." She must have had some intuition! As the months went on, Heath and Lara realized they were falling in love with one another. They were inseparable, spending every day together.

Early in the summer of 2014 they had decided it was fate, and love had won them over. Heath had always wanted to include Kara with the big proposal, and he created the best surprise ever. One Sunday evening in late August, Heath's mother called Kara to see if they could all go to Stone Mountain park to see the laser show the next weekend. Of course, Kara said yes so they planned an outing for the next Saturday. As they were getting ready to leave, Heath made sure and packed a bag with spare clothes and snacks for Kara - how thoughtful! They got to Stone Mountain and went straight for the SkyLift. But with an incoming rain storm, they were closed. Heath seemed very upset about this, and Lara reassured him they would reopen and they could ride it later.

So instead, they went to the Stone Mountain Train. When the rain cleared, they were the first ones on the train to go around the mountain. During the ride, a video was playing telling the history of the mountain. In this video, it said how explorers came to the mountain to look for hidden gems and diamonds within the mountain. Kara perked her ears up and said "Diamonds? There are diamonds here? Let's go find them!" Little did Heath know, this fell perfectly with his plan. They made their way up to the SkyLift, and when they got to the top, Kara kept insisting on looking for diamonds. She was sure she'd find one. So she and Heath's mom searched for diamonds while Heath and Lara walked to a good photo point. It was then he took her by the hand and said to her, "Turns out, there really are diamonds on the mountain" and he slowly slipped a beautiful engagement ring onto her finger. She immediately hugged him and said yes. Heath then called Kara over and kneeled down to her. He said to her "Is it okay if I marry your mama?" and gave her a cherry ring pop so she could have a ring too. Of course she said yes!

As if that wasn't surprise enough, Heath turned to Lara, pointing across the mountain saying, "Do you recognize those people over there?" Lara looked, and across the mountain was her brother, sister in law, and niece. Her brother was snapping pictures the whole time! It was then the reality set in that everyone was in on this grand scheme (except for Lara and Kara). They proceeded to head back down, watch the laser show with family, and enjoy their evening as a newly engaged family. They planned the wedding in 9 weeks, and they were married on a gorgeous afternoon on November 9. With a small collection of family and close friends, the couple joined together as a family, and the rest is history. True love at its finest.

These beautiful pictures were taken by Heath's aunt Pat Chambers. We appreciate so much you sharing this special day with us and your beautiful love story! We wish you both all the happiness in the world!
