{Jordan & Alex Simmons} Married 08.02.14

Jordan & Alex Simmons were married out at The Walters Barn on August 2, 2014. Jordan and Alex were one of our favorite couples to work with! They were both so kind and fun and just an all around great couple! Their love story is too good not to share! So here is a little look into Jordan & Alex Simmons and where it all began!

Jordan and Alex met in Dahlonega where they both attended college at North Georgia. Alex was a pitcher at North Georgia and Jordan was a tennis player for the Lady Saints. Both spending most of their time at practices and games/matches, they made a lot of mutual friends through athletics. One night during Jordan’s sophomore year and Alex’s senior year they met at a mutual friend’s house, but nothing ever came of it.

The next semester, they just so happened to have a math class together. Jordan needed the credit for graduation, but Alex was taking it just for fun basically (Alex is good at math and Jordan is not). Jordan took the bold move to sit next to Alex on the first day of class….and the rest is history! Alex was very gracious to tutor Jordan the entire semester…even though more flirting happened than actual tutoring!

They began dating the summer before Alex transferred down to Georgia Southern to finish his degree in Civil Engineering. They mastered the long-distance relationship for two years, with Alex coming up to visit and watch Jordan’s tennis matches whenever he could. They both graduated in 2013 and began working their first “grown-up” jobs.

For Christmas in 2013, Alex’s mom gave Jordan and Alex’s sister, Haley, gift cards to get their nails done. She claimed it was so they could all (Jordan, Haley, Alex’s mom, and Jordan’s mom) plan a girls day and grab dinner together. Seems like a normal Christmas gift, right?! Well there may have been an ulterior motive behind this gift!

The next month Jordan started planning their girls night out. They finally came up with a date and time, but it just so happened that Jordan’s grandparents “HAD to have them over to dinner” that same night to celebrate Jordan’s brother and cousin getting scholarships to play football in college.... Jordan tried to reschedule, but her grandparents wouldn’t have it.

All of Jordan’s family and Alex’s mom and sister went to dinner at her grandparents’ house that night to “celebrate the boys’ scholarships”. They were all sitting down to dinner when Alex got up to go to the bathroom. Jordan didn't even notice he got up from the table (oops!), but when he came back, he was dressed in a suit and dropped down on one knee right there in the middle of dinner, and asked Jordan to be his wife….and of course she said YES! Jordan always wanter her family to be there when he proposed, so it was the perfect plan!

“Our wedding day could not have been more perfect at the Walter’s Barn on August 2, 2014, about 7 months after we got engaged. There was a chance of rain on our big day, but luckily it held off! Sherri with Soirees Southern Events was there every step of the way to answer any and all questions and to also make our big day go as smoothly as planned! Alex and I could not have asked for a more beautiful venue to have the most important day of our lives!”

Jordan and Alex had some amazing vendors who helped make their day happen including Soirees Southern Event Planning, GG Events, and Hillary Leah Photogrpahy, just to name a few! Here are a couple of sweet pictures taken of that beautiful day in August!

Thank you Jordan and Alex for letting us be apart of your special day and we wish you many many years of happiness!
