{ Alisha & Mark Boone Wedding }

Talk about a beautiful wedding. Alisha and Mark were so remarkable to work with and we were so blessed to be a part of their day! We are thrilled to share the inside scoop of their story and wedding day!!

How crazy is it that the two of them met through Alisha’s ex-boyfriend? The two guys went to high school together and so when it was time to celebrate Alisha’s birthday in Athens, her ex brought Mark along. They clicked instantly due to their similar personalities. “He was always looking out for me and making sure that I was treated right.” They dated on and off for 5 years. It wasn’t until two years ago on May 12, 2013 at a Tim McGraw concert that they seriously started to date and realized that it was going to be a forever kind of relationship.

Check out this proposal story! How romantic and dreamy is this….

“He bought plane tickets for me, my mom, and my sister up to New York City for what I thought was just supposed to be a "Girl's Weekend", while he told me that he was going to be in Tennessee visiting family with his parents, (they were in on the surprise, too!) June 14th - So as the 3 of us girls are exploring NYC, my mom insisted that we get to Central Park for a dance performance starting at 2. We ventured from the Empire State Building by subway (bleh!) to Central Park, only to find out that there wasn't a performance.

However, then my mom insisted that we find "the bridge" to take a picture of it for my dad, who lived in New York when he was younger. Well, there are a bunch of bridges in Central Park, but because Mark and I had just been there in December, I only knew of one, so I started to head towards it. Mom, knew what was coming, was unsure of my directional skills, so she bought a map. Just as we turned the corner to the bridge, I turned around to boast that I made it without using the map, only when I turned back around to show them the bridge, Mark had made his way over to me.

I immediately started asking him what in the world he was doing there and how he made it all the way from Tennessee, and in between all of my talking and excited giggles, still oblivious to his real purpose....Mark dropped down to his knee and said, "Well, I came here to give you this, and to ask you a question..." and I immediately squealed in excitement! After jumping into his arms for the biggest hug ever (I guess that was my "yes"), he put the ring on my shaking finger, and pointed out that his mom, dad, brother, and sister-in-law were over on the side of the bridge filming and taking pictures the whole time. (His brother had shown up that morning and surprised him in NYC).

After the proposal, the 2 of us took a carriage ride around Central Park before joining up with everyone, including his 2 best friends and groomsmen (Zach and Greg), at the Plaza Hotel for a celebration. It was truly a magical surprise and a day I will never forget!”

We asked Alisha what the planning process for her wedding day was like and this is what she had to say…. “Initially, the process was so easy! Within the 1st week, I picked my dress, belt, and veil; it was the 1st and only dress I tried on. The second week was my visit out to the Walters Barn, and we immediately booked it without looking anywhere else. The cake and catering decisions were just as easy, although we did sample around because trying yummy foods is always fun! I am so grateful for my florist, Ms. Dee, because she made the entire process of picking out flowers so simple, too! I pinned what I liked, and she put the looks together flawlessly. I literally started to cry when I first saw my bouquet. The hardest decision that I had to make was picking out the bridesmaids' dresses; part of that is because I had the vision to do an aqua ombre, and there were very few designers who had 4 different shades of one color to get the look that I was envisioning. It wasn't until the day of the wedding that I finally got to see all of the dresses and the colors together, and I couldn't have been happier with the way that they turned out.

As June 20th got closer, planning started to get more stressful because I like to over-plan and over-think everything. Our poor bridal party had a 2 page itinerary emailed to them, but that was just the teacher in me. The littlest details, although hardly anyone notices them, are definitely the hardest to plan....that and the hashtag! (Allison can vouch for me....I had a list of 20 different hashtags. So hard to just choose 1, so for awhile I was using 4-5 on any posts.)”

“As it grew nearer to ceremony time, I just really started to miss Mark. I loved being able to hear him as I was sitting right above him in the loft, but it had been too many hours since I was able to talk to him. Then it was finally time, and as my nervous daddy and I stepped out from the barn doors, an overwhelming sense of pure joy filled my body. The ceremony was a blur, but I never let go of Mark's hands, and I just stared into his eyes the entire time. It was like time had literally frozen, and then it was done in the blink of an eye. I can't wait to get our wedding film back so that we can re-live that moment.”

“I spent the morning crying tears of happiness and excitement, and even some tears of sadness as I thought about growing up and starting my own family.”

We are so happy for this loving couple and are so excited to hear that their first month of marriage has been “full of laughter and pure #BooneBliss
