{ Wedding Registry 101 }

Creating your wedding registry can be one of the most exciting parts of your engagement but also one of the most overwhelming. Here are a few tips that we think might help!
Include items from all price points.
It’s important to remember that your guests will all have different budgets, and not everyone is able to splurge on that new Kitchen Aid for you even if they want to! Try to include items from as low as $10 and up. There are two average wedding gifts: about $50 and $100. So if you can find items that are close to either, that’s a great place to start!
Register early.
People may want to buy you an engagement gift so it would it would be helpful if they are able to look at your registry. Something else to remember is that you will have friends that will want to throw you wedding showers so you will definitely need to have your registry finished by then. The sooner you get it finished the sooner you don't have to worry about it!
Figure out what you actually need.
This one is REALLY important. Don’t register for a bunch of items that you don't really need just because you feel like you have to put something on your registry. That means don’t register for a bunch of cooking supplies if you never cook! In the course of a couple weeks, make a list of things you find yourselves thinking, ‘it would have been really nice to have X.’ Take inventory of the items you both already have that you want to keep so that you don't register for duplicate items.
Think of your guests.
When you register try to find the best prices for every item you choose. That might mean including items from all over the internet, such as websites like Amazon. It’s okay if you don’t register for everything from Bed, Bath, and Beyond!
Check your categories.
We have found that it's helpful to break gifts into the following sections: Kitchen & Dining, Home, For the Bride, For the Groom, and Fun & Miscellany.
Let your personalities shine!
It will be so special picking out the items that you need together, but also add fun things that aren't just another set of towels or plates. If you like hiking add hiking equipment that both you and your spouse will be able to enjoy together.
We hope these tips have given you some great ideas to think about. Below are a few of our favorite stores to build your registry!
