{ The Marriage of Erica White & John David }

We've asked Erica & John David to share their beautiful love story with us and this is how it goes...

I actually met John on a blind date. My sister, Jessica, introduced us in 2012. They had some mutual friends in high school and she told me she thought she might try to set us up. She sent him a Facebook message saying she thought we would hit it off and wanted to set us up. She gave him my number, he called me a couple days later and asked me out on a date. I was impressed that he called me over sending a text message, considering we had never met. We went on our first date in Athens, and it was a definitely a first date to remember. After a whirlwind of events, including lost dinner reservations and unexpected cover charges, we ended up eating dinner at Brett's and seeing a movie after. Even though his plans didn't work out how he'd planned, we laughed through the whole thing, and it actually helped break the ice. Twenty minutes after he dropped me off at home, he sent me a text saying he had a great time and wanted to see me again... The rest is history! We've been together ever since!

Our first date was on August 31, 2012, and we have been together ever since! When we got married, we had been together for 3 years and almost 10 months.

John loves to be unpredictable. He wanted to propose when I would least expect it. It was Tuesday, December 8, 2015. I went to my grandmother's house after work to help her put up her Christmas tree. While I was doing that, John went to Athens, and ordered Brett's to-go. He actually ordered the same meals we ate almost three and a half years prior. He set it up over a candlelight dinner, and told me he wanted to ask me something. He said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and asked me to marry him! I of course said yes! He then gave me a letter he wrote and it was the sweetest thing ever!

Our wedding day was PERFECT! I loved every single minute of the entire day! I had the best bridesmaids, and spending the day with them was so much fun! I was so glad they were a part of our special day. My favorite part of the day was right after the ceremony when John and I went off to take our pictures together. We opted not to do a "first look" before the ceremony, so this was the first time we were alone on our wedding day. It was very special to me. We were alone with our photographers, laughing & talking about the day, taking pictures in seclusion, and soaking in the first moments of marriage together. One unique thing about our relationship is the preacher who married us also married my parents almost 34 years ago! It is special to share that with my parents. We are both abundantly lucky to have such amazing parents as examples in our marriage!

The Walters Barn & Soirees Southern Events could not have made our wedding any more perfect! They took care of everything! It was such a blessing to not have to worry about anything on the day of the wedding. They set everything up, took everything down, and even packed up our gifts and leftover food! The decor for our wedding was stunning! I had a vision and the staff brought that vision to life in the most spectacular way! I cannot say enough about the staff at The Walters Barn & Soirees Southern Events. Everyone we worked with were such professionals, and I'm so glad they were there to share in our special day.
