It was such a pleasure watching Courtney + Tyler tie the knot this past August! They are such a fun couple and we were so honored to do their florals & be a part of their Big Day! Here’s a look into their story & wedding day at 550 Trackside!
"We met the summer after our freshman year of high school. We happened to both be on a church retreat at Fort Walton Beach, FL. While I was walking past the pool, he happened to head nod at me and struck up a conversation; Here we are now! We have been together 12 years now. We dated through high school, went to the same college, and then tackled long distance while we were both in graduate school."
"I gave him very little hints about what I wanted for a proposal; all I told him was that I wanted my family there and for it to be a surprise. He tried getting information out of my family and friends, but I hadn't told them anything either! We currently live in Chicago and my family was in town visiting from Georgia. We had tickets to a Cubs game and went into the city early to explore and take some pictures. We stopped in front of Buckingham Fountain and started to take a few family pictures. Then, like we normally would, they took a few photos of just Tyler and I. Little did I know, my sister was currently FaceTiming my grandparents so they could also be a part of the event. Tyler then turned to me and told me there was a reason he brought me there that day and proceeded to ask me to be his wife. He asked very elegantly but I was in so much shock I don't remember much of it!"
"We had to plan long distance for our wedding. Most of our family was still in Georgia, and I wanted to get married in the church I grew up in. We were lucky enough to have an amazing wedding planner (Clellie Gibson) and my mom that went above and beyond to help us plan as both Tyler and I have crazy work schedules. I flew back to Georgia about once a month as the wedding got closer for dress fittings, showers, and the rest of the planning details. Overall our vendors were super flexible with us to help make the day perfect!"
"Our wedding day was the most fun day I have ever had in my life! We were surrounded by all the people that loved us the most, everything was beautiful and the day was more perfect than I could have imagined! It was so much fun to finally marry my best friend! There is a special feeling knowing that you and your spouse have committed yourselves to each other for the rest of your lives. It makes me grateful for him everyday, and I love coming home to him."
